You may remember an earlier blog where we informed you of the government's plan to raise the birth rate by encouraging government offices to turn off their lights once a month on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in hopes that workers will go home to his/her spouse and ....make babies. Well...
News update: For those of you who wish to follow the Korean government's efforts to raise birth rates in South Korea, the following is a summary of an article in yesterday's Korea Herald.
Government agencies are going to be working together with private businesses to sponser a "Blind Date Event". Participation will be limited, but those individuals who are first to sign-up, will be pared with someone of the opposite sex in hopes of igniting a relationship that will result in ... you guessed it...babies! This approach was tried earlier this year on a very limited basis with the government reporting that TEN couples are still dating. Mmmmm...
